We collect data through the following methods:

• Chat interface: Messages you send to the AI assistant, including workout descriptions and fitness questions
• Manual entry: Body metrics (weight, height, body fat percentage), fitness goals, and exercise preferences
• Automatic tracking: Workout timestamps, exercise history, and session metadata

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used to:

• Provide and improve the Fitney service
• Track your workout history and progress
• Generate personalized insights and suggestions through AI
• Enable AI coaching conversations via Anthropic's Claude API
• Process and verify your subscription
• Send important updates about your account
• Analyse usage patterns to improve the app

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Fitney:

Data Retention

• Active accounts: Your data is retained while your account is active.
• Inactive accounts: Data is deleted 2 years after your last activity.
• Account deletion: Upon request, we immediately remove your personal data.

International Data Transfers

Your data is primarily stored in Berlin, EU on Google Cloud Platform. However, data may be transferred to the United States when processed by Anthropic for AI features.

For transfers outside the EU/UK, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission as the legal basis.

GDPR Rights (EU/UK Users)

We process your data under the following legal bases: consent, performance of our contract with you, and legitimate business interests.

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Rectify inaccurate data
• Erase your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Restrict processing of your data

• Opt-out of the sale of personal information (note: we do not sell your data)
• Non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights

Children's Privacy

Fitney is not intended for users under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we learn that we have collected data from a user under 16, we will delete that information promptly.

We use PostHog for product analytics. This collects information such as:

• Device type and browser information
• Session duration

You can opt out of analytics tracking by enabling "Do Not Track" in your browser settings or by contacting us.
